Clay Modelling Contest at St. Mary’s School Rishra | Creative Activity

St. Mary’s School Rishra Organises Clay Modelling Contest to Inspire Young Minds

Creativity plays an important role in the early years of a child’s learning journey. Understanding the importance of imagination, exploration, and hands-on experiences, St. Mary’s School, Rishra organised a Clay Modelling Contest for its youngest learners on 14th July 2026.

The event was organised for students of Lower Nursery (LN) and Upper Nursery (UN) with the theme “Unleash Your Imagination, Mould Your Creation!”. The activity provided children with an opportunity to explore their creativity, express their ideas, and enjoy the process of learning through art.

At St. Mary’s School, Rishra, young learners are encouraged to participate in engaging activities that support their overall development. Creative activities like clay modelling help children develop confidence, imagination, coordination, and essential skills while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.

Clay Modelling Contest

A Fun-Filled Learning Experience Through Clay Art

Clay modelling is a wonderful activity that allows children to transform their thoughts and imagination into creative forms. During the contest, students enthusiastically worked with clay and created different shapes and designs using their own ideas.

The activity encouraged children to experiment freely and enjoy the creative process without limitations. By moulding clay with their hands, students explored textures, shapes, and patterns while developing their artistic abilities.

The theme of the contest motivated young learners to think creatively and bring their imagination to life through colourful and innovative creations.

Developing Fine Motor Skills Through Hands-On Activities

Activities involving clay play an important role in early childhood education. Working with clay helps children strengthen their hand muscles, improve coordination, and enhance fine motor skills, which are essential for writing and other daily activities.

The Clay Modelling Contest also encouraged concentration, patience, and problem-solving abilities among students. As children planned and created their models, they learned how ideas can be transformed into physical creations through effort and creativity.

Such hands-on experiences make learning more interactive and help children develop confidence in expressing themselves.

Encouraging Participation and Confidence Among Students

Participation was made compulsory for all students of Classes LN and UN, ensuring that every child received an opportunity to take part in this creative learning experience.

The event created an encouraging environment where students could showcase their imagination and enjoy the joy of creating something independently. Teachers guided and supported students throughout the activity while allowing them the freedom to explore their own creative ideas.

For young children, such opportunities help build self-confidence and encourage a positive attitude towards learning and participation.

Nurturing Creativity Through Early Learning Activities

Early childhood is a crucial stage for developing curiosity, creativity, and self-expression. St. Mary’s School, Rishra believes that education should provide children with opportunities to learn through exploration and practical experiences.

Along with academic learning, creative activities, art programmes, and interactive sessions help young learners develop important social, emotional, and cognitive skills. These experiences contribute to building a strong foundation for future learning.

The Clay Modelling Contest reflected the school’s commitment to providing a joyful and stimulating learning environment where children can explore their abilities and grow with confidence.
