As a CISCE-affiliated English medium school, St. Mary’s School, Rishra focuses not only on academic excellence but also on character building, values, and holistic development. Programmes like the Investiture Ceremony provide students with practical experiences that strengthen leadership qualities, teamwork, confidence, and decision-making skills.

Oath Ceremony Inspires Students to Lead with Integrity

The highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the oath by Principal Mrs. Suchismita Sarkar. Addressing the newly appointed council members, she encouraged them to perform their duties with honesty, discipline, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.

The oath-taking ceremony represented more than just the beginning of a new role; it was a promise to uphold the values and traditions of St. Mary’s School. The newly appointed leaders were reminded that true leadership requires empathy, fairness, and the ability to guide others with respect and understanding.

The Principal’s words motivated students to become role models for their peers and to carry out their responsibilities with commitment and sincerity.

New Student Council Members Receive Badges

The newly appointed office bearers proudly received their badges during the ceremony, officially marking the beginning of their leadership journey.

School Captain Ishika Marda and School Vice Captain Bajrang Singh took charge of their respective positions with enthusiasm and dedication. Along with them, the newly selected House Captains and Prefects also accepted their responsibilities and pledged to work towards maintaining the school’s values and discipline.

The House Captains appointed for the academic year included:

  • House Aqua: Shruti Shaw
  • House Ignis: Anushka Dikshit
  • House Terra: Samriddhi Tiwari
  • House Ventus: Disha Verma

Each student leader promised to contribute towards creating a positive school environment while encouraging teamwork, unity, and healthy participation among students.

Strengthening Teamwork Through House Leadership

House activities play an important role in developing collaboration, sportsmanship, and leadership qualities among students. To ensure smooth functioning of house activities, Mrs. Averi Choudhury, the nodal coordinator, along with the teacher moderators of each house, will guide and oversee house proceedings throughout the year.

With the support of teachers and mentors, the student council members will learn how to manage responsibilities effectively while working together as a team.

Such opportunities help students understand important values like cooperation, communication, discipline, and accountability. These skills become valuable foundations for their personal growth and future success.

Encouraging Responsible Leadership Beyond Classrooms

At St. Mary’s School, Rishra, education extends beyond textbooks and examinations.
